Product description

Origin: Soursop is a fruit native to South and Central America. It grows in the Caribbean and very recently began growing in Miami. It is in the same genus, Annona, as cherimoya and is in the Annonaceae family.

Flavor Profile: The flavor has been described as a combination of strawberry and pineapple, with sour citrus flavor notes contrasting with an underlying creamy flavor reminiscent of coconut or banana. Soursop is widely promoted (sometimes as "graviola") for its regenerative benefits. In particular, it is a rich source of annonaceous acetogenin compounds (AGEs). Acetogenins inhibit nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, which is contained in the membranes of cancer cells.

How to eat

Once the fruit is soft all over, cut it in half and eat with a spoon. Avoid eating the seeds and the skin.
