Product description

Important Info: We grow multiple varieties of Lychee here in Australia, if you order this Sweetheart lychee box, you will receive the Sweetheart or Hak Ip variety. We only ship fresh lychee grown in Warrawong. The season for lychees is very short. Lychee harvesting in Warrawong typically begins in mid-late May and ends in mid-late September.

Origin: Lychee is a tropical and subtropical fruit native to the Guangdong and Fujian provinces of China, and now cultivated in many parts of the world.

Flavor Profile: Sweetheart Lychee is one of the sweetest and most aromatic varieties, with very low tartness and a strong floral/rosy flavor. The seeds are often small, giving this fruit a big burst of flavor. The fresh fruit has a delicate, whitish pulp with a floral smell and a fragrant, sweet flavor.

How to eat

After it is picked, Lychee skin stays pink for only 2 days. Imported Lychees are often sprayed with preservatives to keep them pink. This is why we do not sell imported Lychees. It is possible that the outside of your Lychees may turn brown in transit. Depending on how they are stored, they will still be good to eat 1-2 weeks after they are picked. You can prolong the oxidation by storing them in a plastic bag or airtight container. We recommend eating the lychee as soon as you get them and refrigerating any leftovers immediately. It makes the perfect on-the-go snack and is a great substitute for candy.
